Silvio has just arrived with all his photo equipment  and great ideas and is ready to make his first workshop the 21st of August from 4 - 7 pm.

SUMMER AT SIGRID'S

We were open at Sigrid's Space every wednesday from 5-7 pm during the summer. We worked with the talented Spanish artist Diego Roig and who made drawing workshops with the themes: draw "in" & "long life to imagination"

All workshops were completely free.

THANK YOU AND GOODBYE AMITIS

Amitis has after two busy months in Gellerup with the Fantastic Femmes gone back to Los Angeles.

We have made stencils and spraypainted and been chit chatting about strong women and creativity. It has been great to work with the fantastic femmes of Gellerup and we hope that you will all continue to join us at our workshops.

GOODBYE DANIEL!

After 2 months of creative activities in January to April and good laughs at The Drawing Club, we have now said goodbye to our third artist in residency, Daniel van der Noon

The young British artist, Daniel van der Noon, carried on the good work at The Drawing Club after new years and through out spring. Despite Daniel's young age he is already about to be a well-known name in the group of young up-and-coming artists on Aarhus' art scene. He is also one of the permanent bloggers on the fast expanding Danish website IDOART.

Daniel van der Noon arrived in Gellerup the 2nd.week of 2012, and he continued where Mario left off in Sigrid's Space.

The Drawing Club was in a drop in club which was held two days a week, with Daniel as facilitator.We have really enjoyed drawing with Daniel. 

SIGRIDS SPACE - ART IN GELLERUP

In August 2011 the Aarhus Art Building – Centre for Contemporary Art opened a satellite in Gellerupparken, 3 miles outside the centre of Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city. Sigrid’s Space is a social and open exhibition space for experimental contemporary art created in and for the site.

The multi-ethnic residential area Gellerup in Aarhus will from August 2011 until the autumn of 2012 be visited by four prominent international artists from different parts of the world.

The first artist moved into one of Gellerup’s high rise buildings on August 1st and to live and work in Gellerup in the following two months. Until late summer 2012 the artists will take turns moving in and becoming part of everyday life in the area.
